Mia and Joey!
Rogue river fishing trip report for the 1st days of June 2017. Drifting the upper Rogue is an adventure for all ages, from 1st time fishers (and drift boat riders) to our most experienced "regulars" who pursue fishing with absolute dedication and knowledge. Spring salmon fishing is an exciting journey, often beginning before dawn, floating downstream to the 1st songs of the morning birds and the rush of the river's whitecaps ahead. The glow of the heater at your feet keeps you warm as you focus on the pending bend and tug of your rod. Then the true ride on the Rogue begins. From beginner to expert the adrenaline of the take-down, battle and final netting is a true rush. A feeling often captured in the prized photographs of each angler with their catch.

John, with his catch.
It looks like this brute of a salmon didn't back down from any confrontations in the ocean. Despite missing a large portion of his face (since healed), he migrated 140 miles upriver to attack John's bait. Quickly returned to the river to spawn, what we can only assume, will be some very aggressive and resilient offspring.
