Southern Oregon Year-Round Fishing

Rogue-river-salmon-fishing

Here we are at the end of the 1st week of July, catching spring Chinook salmon and headed directly into our fall salmon season, which usually begins in July and booms through August and early September.  There are plenty of fresh summer steelhead in the Rogue, but it's hard to shift focus away from the fight of the mighty salmon, especially now that we are able to take fish home with that prized red flesh, which continues to cut out bright and firm. Despite current fun fishing conditions, it is sometimes hard not to look toward the future... Just as we begin to see the Rogue river salmon season end in October we look forward, with anticipation, to the beginning of November for "lights out" summer steelhead fishing here on our home stretch of the upper Rogue and to the beginning of salmon fishing on the Elk and Sixes rivers, near Port Orford, on the southern Oregon coast.  And then there is Umpqua winter steelhead season...
