Upper Rogue River Steelhead Fishing - Bait & Tackle Opener

Colton
November 1st marked the bait and tackle opener on the upper Rogue river (just outside of Medford/Ashland/Grants Pass), after 2 months of being designated as fly fishing only. Guides and guests look forward to trips during the 1st two weeks of November every year as the steelhead fishing is usually quite productive and hooking into theses acrobatic and feisty fish offers the angler a great way to spend a day.

Colton's goal was to land a bigger steelhead than his brother had in previous years, and well, he succeeded. I imagine he had some fish stories to tell when he got home.

The 1st days of November are filled with guests who return year after year, but don't worry there is always room for more looking to enjoy the fall steelhead bite!

Our guides will be fishing for steelhead on the upper Rogue through December and on the Elk and Sixes rivers (for king salmon and steelhead) on the southern Oregon coast, near Port Orford through January.
